Happy Birthday McKinnley!

On Sunday we celebrated McKinnley's birthday. She turned 7 years old on May 11th. She got a bunch of cute clothes, some hair ties with bling and a book from Grandma and Grandpa. I got her a pink bracelet. Pamela is taking her to get a manicure and pedicure on Saturday.

This is what I did for McKinnley for her birthday. There is a bracelet in the bag.

How do you like Colby's toe socks?

We had to try out the new hair ties.

FYI- the girls are wearing Colby's t-shirts because they got sunburned the day before swimming.

Mother's Day

Here are some pictures from today at Mom and Dad's house for family dinner and to celebrate Mother's Day.

I made this for mom out of wood block letters and then mod podged paper onto the blocks:

A week or so ago I mod podged my initials so I knew that I wanted to do something like that for my mother's day present to my mom. This is how my initials turned out:

Isn't the owl cute?!

Pamela's cactus in the backyard is blooming

Self portrait, since I am usually the one taking pictures at family stuff, this is the only way I get a picture of me in the mix.

Here is Pamela wearing a cute new shirt and crocheting a shawl

Pumbaa and his rabbit

Here's Dad. His forehead is all healed up and you can't even see the scar from where they removed the cancer.

Matt, he just got a haircut, can you tell???

This is normal to see Matt texting all the time.

Howdy

This past week I have been working on making Mother's Day cards. I have actually done okay with selling a few at work. On Tuesday Matt brought the kids over so they could pick out a card for their mom. Halli and McKinnely are always so curious about how to make a card, so I showed them how I made one and they helped pick out the paper I used.

Over the weekend, Bridgette, Sarah and I got together for dinner and then went to watch a movie in John and Bryant's house. We saw Ironman (daaa nah, da nah nah, da do da do da do da do, da nah nah, Ironmad themesong) . It was so nice outside, however every now and then I felt like I was being attack by bugs. On Saturday, Tara and I went to see the new movie, X-Men Orgins. It has been like forever since I went to the movies, so it was fun and the movie was good.

Playing dress up with Pumbaa

Okay, I said I would never dress up my dog, but I did (for a few hours anyway). Hehehe. I'm not going to make him wear this, but doesn't he look cute! Maybe when it gets cold again he will want to wear it.
New shirt smell, Sweetpea & Pumbaa

I gave him treats (below him) but he still wasn't going to be happy wearing a shirt.

More doggie pictures.
Pumbaa on the back of a chair.
The back of the chair is only as wide as he is, but he loves this spot.

Do you know how hard it is to take a decent picture of a black dog with brown eyes?

Look at what the cat dragged in!

Recently Tara's cat, Sweetpea, has started to bring in little critters to "play" with. This time it was a huge grasshopper (about three inches long) that she had already batted around. In the grasshopper's attempt to escape, it got itself stuck in between my Arcadia doors. Sweetpea was still trying to get the poor thing but after a while she gave up. It took the grasshopper hours to finally figure out it could squeeze through the two doors (hello - it got itself in, it could get itself out) and go back to freedom (one leg short) in the backyard. I took pictures because Tara wasn't home and I wanted her to see what her precious was doing.

Escape to freedom!
Oops, stuck between the two glass doors.

The kids got bubbles in the family Easter basket,
